Obituary of Nancy Lee Kelleher
Nancy Lee (Binney) Kelleher, 83 of Villanova, passed away peacefully on June 16th, 2025 at Beaumont at Bryn Mawr, in Bryn Mawr Pa. Nancy lived with grace and joy until her final days, gathering for meals with her dearest Beaumont friends just two nights before she gently drifted to sleep and transitioned to her Heavenly home.
Nancy was preceded in death by her beloved husband Paul who passed in 2004. Paul and Nancy had an extraordinary love affair for 38 years. There is no doubt they are with each other now. For 35 years they shared a home on Pleasant St. in Marlborough where she raised their three boys who she is survived by, David (Marlo) Kelleher, Brian (Britt) Kelleher and Daniel (Nicole) Kelleher. Her boys were the apples of her eye. Avid athletes there wasn’t a game or school activity they were involved in that she missed, making signs and chants to cheer them on, proud of the fact that she had started the “megaphone mom’s cheering squad”. Her love for her boys and then as they grew their families was second to none as evidenced by her lack of shyness to share a story, or likely more, about them. Nancy is also survived by her six grandchildren, Sean, Ryan, Paige, Erin, Kennedy and Sam who she cherished unconditionally.
Nancy grew up in Wrentham Mass, the daughter of Henry and Alyce (MacDonald) Binney. She had 11 siblings. 3 preceded her in death, David Binney, Linda Binney Olsen and Henry Binney Jr. Nancy is survived by her siblings William (Terri) Binney, Robert (Janet) Binney, Richard (Kathy) Binney, Laurence (Marcy) Binney, Virginia (Jerry) Phillips, Susan (late Paul) King, James (late Kathy) Binney, and Peter (Deirdre) Binney. Nancy had too many Nieces and Nephews to list, but that didn’t stop her from being genuinely close with many of them.
Nancy taught the children of Marlborough for 31 years before retiring in 2005. She loved teaching as much as she loved learning, earning a Double Masters in Education. Some of her closest friends were fellow teachers and many student aids that she tirelessly and passionately shared her craft with.
Nancy grew up with a love for swimming and a lifelong passion for reading. After Paul’s passing, she nourished her determination to travel and see the World visiting destinations like the Great Wall of China, the Sistine Chapel, the rivers of Europe, the jungles of Asia ziplining well into her seventies and even riding a camel with many more wonders she saw in her quest to conquer the World. She loved cruising and even had a 90-day cruise to Australia and Asia booked when she fell ill. In a wheelchair, hooked up to oxygen, the doctor gave her the news that her days were coming to an end. She looked up and with a smile knowing the plans had been made and asked “Do I have time for one last cruise!?” Nancy faced death without fear. She was comforted by her deep faith, the knowledge that she had fought the good fight leaving nothing on the table and the promise of reunion with her beloved Paul. Though she would miss her family, she found peace in the hope of being together again in God’s eternal embrace.
