Obituary of Phyllis M. Crouthamel

Phyllis M. Crouthamel, age 95, of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully at home on June 14, 2025.

Born in Stewartstown, PA, Phyllis spent the past 31 years living in Wilmington with her daughter and two grand children. A devoted homemaker, she was a former member of the Trainer Fire Company and its Seniors Club. Phyllis was known for her humor and infectious laugh and smile. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life—she loved drinking ice coffee, shopping on QVC, word search puzzles, and most especially, spending cherished time with her family and friends on trips to Ocean City, MD.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Marie Eaton Shade, and her siblings: Kathryn Shade, George Shade, Nellie Boyce, and Bud Shade.

Phyllis is survived by her four loving children: Lisa Hawk, Gary Crouthamel, Donald Crouthamel, and Sharon Dorwart; her beloved grandchildren: Samantha Lonergan, Reese Hawk, and Sondra DePalma; and many extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Friday, June 20th, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd., Garnet Valley, PA, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM.
