Obituary of Nancy A. Reid

Nancy A. Reid, age 100 of Glen Mills, PA passed away peacefully on June 14, 2025 at Evergreen Pointe in Maris Grove. Nancy resided ain the Maris Grove community for the past 12 years, previously residing in the Hershey Mills community in West Chester, PA. Born in Worcester, MA on June 30, 1924, Nancy was the daughter of the late Mary (Carrera) and John Martella, Sr., the second oldest of four children, and the beloved wife of Warren Robert Reid for sixty-two years prior to his passing. Nancy was raised in Worcester, MA and moved to New York City where she graduated from Hunter College with a Registered Nursing Degree (RN) and became head operating nurse at New York City Hospital. During her career, Nancy worked in various hospitals in New York, Maryland, Georgia, Florida, California, Virginia and Pennsylvania and she retired from the West Chester University Health Center in Pennsylvania.

As a caregiver all her life, Nancy was always a giving and generous person with a very strong faith in God. Nancy had been very actively involved in her community and she volunteered her time as an officer with the local Parent Teacher Association (PTA), a leader of the Girl Scouts of the USA, and was an active member in her church. Lauded for her artistic ability, Nancy also enjoyed swimming, exercising, playing tennis and paddle tennis, yoga, meditation, sewing, and traveling.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Leo and John Martella, and her sister, Phyllis Martella, who all resided in Worcester, MA. She is survived by her two daughters, Andrea L. Reid and Lisa Reid Scott and her husband David. She is also survived by two nephews, David Martella and wife Mary Pat, Paul Martella and his wife Mary, and a niece, Nancy Martella Corrigan and her husband Mark.

Visitation will be held at Pagano Funeral Home at 3711 Foulk Road, Garnet Valley, PA on Thursday, June 19, 2025 between 10am and 11am.
