Obituary of Joan Lucas

Joan B. Lucas, age 74, of Boothwyn, PA, passed away peacefully on May 31, 2025, surrounded by her loving daughters.

Born and raised in Darby, PA, she was the daughter of the late John and Gloria Dell Buonacuore. Joan had been a resident of Boothwyn for the past 12 years, previously living in Norwood, PA. She devoted 25 years of her professional life as a Bank Manager at Wachovia Bank before retiring.

Joan was a cherished member of the Creekside Village community, where she enjoyed traveling and spending time with her many friends. She had a passion for crafting, especially making thoughtful cards for others, and above all, she treasured time spent with her family, most of all her daughters and grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Robert D. Lucas, who passed away in 2009.

She is survived by her two daughters, Nicole (Shawn) Weatherill and Danielle (Tom) Wood; her sisters, Vi Jolly and Diane Brown; five grandchildren, Taylor Weatherill, Jenna Weatherill , Lucas Wood, Carter Wood, and Gaige Wood; her great-grandchild, Nicolette; and several nieces and nephews. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, from 9:15 to 10:15 AM at St. John Fisher Catholic Church, 4225 Chichester Ave., Boothwyn, PA, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM.
