Obituary of William W. Jones Jr.

William W. Jones, Jr., age 82, of Kennett Square, PA, passed away on May 17, 2025, at Chester County Hospital. Born in Philadelphia, PA, and raised in Ridley, PA, Bill had been a resident of Kennett Square for the past 10 years. Prior to that, he was a longtime resident of Norwood, PA.Bill proudly served as a mail carrier in the Folcroft area of Delaware County for over 40 years retiring in 2000. He was a graduate of Ridley High School, Class of 1960. Bill was a member of the Kennett Area Senior Center and was an avid reader and bowler, and he deeply loved all Philadelphia sports teams. He enjoyed his extra dry vodka martinis straight up with a twist and was a fantastic "Poppy," adored by his grandchildren.In addition to his parents, William W. Bill was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Judith H. Goodman Jones who passed in 2017. He is survived by his step-daughter, Stephanie (Chadd) Ingram, step-son, Eric (Amy) Hodgson, brothers, Eugene (Josephine) Jones and Lee (Janet) Ward, his grandchildren: Olivia Ingram, Ainsley Ingram, and Julianna Hodgson.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 22nd at 1:00 PM at SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, 1600 Sproul Road, Springfield, PA.
