Obituary of Mary R. Duricek

Mary R. Duricek, beloved mother and grandmother, age 89, of Glen Mills, PA, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2025, at Rose Court at Maris Grove. Born in Wilmington, DE, Mary had been an active and joyful resident of the Maris Grove community for the past four years. Prior to that, she lived in Newark, DE where she was a loving mother and wife. After dedicating years to raising her four children as a stay-at-home mom, she transitioned to a successful career as a legal secretary. Mary was a longtime active member of Holy Angels Catholic Church in Newark, DE. Mary was proud of her Polish heritage, she was a devoted Catholic, an avid Phillies fan, and a Rummikub champion. She enjoyed spending winters in the Florida Keys and summers in Ocean City, MD with her beloved husband Pete. Above all, she loved spending the holiday season filled with parties back in Newark, DE surrounded by her family; especially her grandchildren who she would always shower with many Christmas gifts. Mary was the last surviving of seven siblings and was preceded in death by her parents, Anthony and Anna Rakowski, and her husband of many years, Peter P. Duricek, who passed away in 2020. She is survived by her four children: Jennifer (Ken) Kenton, Peter (Kittie) Duricek Jr., Michele (Joseph) McHugh, and David Duricek; and seven grandchildren: Sydney, Paige, and Jordan Kenton, twins Delaney and Bayleigh Duricek, Kyle (Alyssa) McHugh, and Rebecca McHugh. A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2025, from 10:00–11:00 AM at Maris Grove Chapel, 500 Maris Grove Way, Glen Mills, PA, followed by a Funeral Liturgy at 11:00 AM. A celebration of life luncheon will be held after the Liturgy.
