Obituary of Dorothy M. Kilbane

Dorothy M. Kilbane, age 101, of Glen Mills, PA, passed away peacefully at home on April 30, 2025. Born and raised in Meadville, PA, Dorothy spent the last 18 years as a beloved member of the Maris Grove community in Glen Mills. Prior to that, she resided in Springfield, PA. A devoted homemaker for most of her life, Dorothy also worked as a beautician and later worked in retail sales. Dorothy was known for her hospitality, compassion and generosity towards her friends and neighbors. She was known for her generous spirit and love of community. Dorothy and Hubert were long time members of First Presbyterian Church of Springfield, Pa. She enjoyed cooking, playing cards, and singing in the Maris Grove choir. She was a dedicated volunteer and actively served the Republican Party for over 50 years. In her younger years, she made a lasting impact as a Girl Scout leader, instilling values of service and friendship in countless young girls. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Karl and Ethel Marion Hart Metzger; her beloved husband, Hubert Kilbane, who passed in 1997; and her grandson, Darrick Johnson. She is survived by her three daughters: Karen Johnson (Ed Moss), Patricia Hall (Thomas), and Nancy Brucker (Ron); eight grandchildren: Rebecca, Devan, Brittany, Joshua, Matthew, Kathryn, Amy, and Mark; and sixteen great-grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 6, 2025 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd., Garnet Valley, PA. Interment will remain private.
