Obituary of Charles Edward Schaen

Charles Edward "Ed" Schaen, age 82, of Linwood, PA, passed away on April 28, 2025, at Riddle Memorial Hospital.

Born and raised in Chester, PA, Ed was the son of the late Frederick and Nancy Rose Feydina. He spent the majority of his life in Linwood, PA, where he was a devoted member of the community. Ed worked for many years as a Lineman at General Motors in Wilmington, DE, before retiring.

Ed had a love for horse racing, cheering on the Phillies, and visiting the casino. He cherished spending time with his family and lived a life full of simple pleasures and strong connections.

In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbara Syfirt Schaen (2020); his son, Edward C. Schaen; and his siblings,  Mercedes "Butch" Ottinger, Joan Devito, David Schaen, and Marie Wilkerson.

He is survived by his children, Laurie Schaen and Eric Schaen (Stephanie); his siblings, Frederick Schaen and Charmaine Tobin; his grandson, James E. Rooney (Jessica); and five great-granddaughters.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd., Garnet Valley, PA 19060. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 AM. Interment will  be private. Online condolences may be shared by visiting www.paganofuneralhome.com.
