Obituary of Debbie Syva

Debbie Ann Kokoszka Syva, age 70, of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully on April 22, 2025, with her husband and daughter by her side. Born in Bethel Township, PA to the late Milton Valentine Kokoszka and Mary Dorothy Anderson Kokoszka. Debbie attended Garnet Valley High School. Debbie spent the past 50 years living in Wilmington, DE, having previously resided in Bethel, PA.

Debbie worked as a waitress at the Copper Kettle and Marina's, where she was known for her friendly demeanor and warm smile. She enjoyed simple pleasures—spending time with her beloved dogs, walking in the park exploring, dining out, shopping, spending time with family and friends and vacationing.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Dawn Krieger. She is survived by her devoted husband of 27 years, Ron Syva; her daughter, Michelle Morris; her son, Robert Morris; her sister, Andrea Gray; and her cherished grandchildren, Tiffany Brooke Morris and Kai Logan Abplanalp along with her nieces, Nancy Valichka and Karen Gray and their children.

A visitation will be held on Friday, April 25, 2025, from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd., Garnet Valley, PA, followed by a funeral service at 12:30 PM. Interment will take place at Gracelawn Cemetery, New Castle, DE.
