Obituary of Peter Nestor

Peter Nestor, age 73, of Glen Mills, PA, passed away peacefully at home on April 14, 2025. Born in Brooklyn, NY, and raised in Teaneck, NJ, Peter had most recently made his home in the Maris Grove community of Glen Mills for the past year and a half. He previously lived in West Chester for 17 years, and before that, in Colonia, NJ.

A proud graduate of Teaneck High School, Class of 1968, Peter went on to earn his Master’s degree in Statistics from the University of California, Berkeley and an undergraduate degree in mathematics from NYU. Deeply devoted to his faith, he was a member of Holy Ascension Orthodox Church in West Chester.

In his earlier years, Peter had a zest for life and a wide range of interests. He loved riding his motorcycle, cycling, and listening to music as an early fan of The Grateful Dead and The Rolling Stones. In retirement he enjoyed woodworking and brewing his own beer.

Peter was preceded in death by his beloved parents, George and Nina (Benishin) Nestor; his cherished son, Andrew Tian, who passed in 2023; and his brother, Paul Nestor. He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Jung Pu Yen; his daughter, Sheri DeCristofaro (Jon); daughter-in-law, Charlene Ng; and two adored grandchildren, Sophie DeCristofaro and Asher Tian.

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Thursday, April 17th, from 10:30 to 11:30 AM at Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Road, Garnet Valley, PA. A funeral service will follow at 11:30 AM. Interment will be held at Edgewood Memorial Park in Glen Mills.
