Obituary of Mabel L. Ladd

Mabel L. Ladd, age 92, of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2025.

Born in Locustdale, PA, and raised in Boothwyn, PA, Mabel was a longtime resident of Wilmington. A devoted homemaker, she was a dedicated member of Chester Bethel United Methodist Church, where she was actively involved in her younger years. Mabel had a passion for cooking and cherished the time she spent traveling the world with her husband. She had a deep love for animals, but above all, she treasured the moments spent with her grandchildren.

Mabel was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Lottie Evert Hoffman; her beloved husband, John Ladd Jr., who passed in 2000; her sons, Alan Ladd and Evert Ladd, who both passed in 2024; her daughter-in-law, Terry Ladd who passed in 2021; and eight siblings.

She is survived by her children, John (Vivian) Ladd III, Laura (Bill) White, and Ronald (Amy) Ladd and Robin Ladd, the beloved wife of Alan Ladd; her siblings, Ronald Hoffman and Carol Holland; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Saturday, March 22nd, from 9:00-10:00AM at Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd., Garnet Valley, PA, followed by funeral services at 10:00AM. Interment will take place at Chester Bethel Cemetery, Wilmington, DE. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mabel's memory may be made to Chester Bethel United Methodist Church, 2619 Foulk Road, Wilmington, DE 19810.
