Obituary of John F. Travis

John F. Travis, age 92, of Aston, PA, passed away peacefully at home on March 2, 2025. Born and raised in Philadelphia, PA, John had been a resident of the Valleybrook community in Aston since 1985, previously living in West Goshen, PA. He dedicated his career to the railroad industry, working as a conductor for the Pennsylvania Railroad, which later became Amtrak. A proud U.S. Army veteran, John served during the Korean Conflict. He was a longtime member of the American Legion Post 926. In his free time, he enjoyed bowling and was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan. John was preceded in death by his parents, James L. and Katherine Feeley Travis; his beloved wife, Rita M. McKenna Schultz, who passed in 2009; as well as his siblings and a grandchild. He is survived by his daughter, Mare Anne (Jeffrey) Sheppard; his stepson, Thomas (Kimberly) Schultz; his grandchildren; and his great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held privately.
