Obituary of Edward P. Mastripolito

Edward P. "Big Ed" Mastripolito, age 84, of South Philadelphia, PA, passed away on February 17, 2025, at Naamans Creek Country Manor. Born to Charles and Catherine Roby Mastripolito in Philadelphia, PA, he resided for the past two years in Garnet Valley, PA, after previously living in South Philadelphia for his entire life. Big Ed was a bartender, chef and manager at Philadium Tavern for 48 years, retiring in 2017. He had a passion for sports, comedians and live entertainment, traveling, cooking, photography, fishing and bowling. He enjoyed video recording events and was known as an entertainer. He was a member of Conner's Club, Big Ed loved spending time in Cape May, especially his most recent trip to revisit his childhood home. In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his brother, Charles N. Mastripolito, and his half-brother, Anthony Picozzi. He is survived by his wife, Roseann Mastripolito; his children, Edward, Charles, and Robert Mastripolito; his sister, Claire Santangelo; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, from 10:00 - 11:00 AM at Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd., Garnet Valley, PA 19060, followed by funeral services at 11:00 AM at the same location. Interment will remain private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Edward's name may be made to Naamans Creek Country Manor, Activities Department.
