Obituary of Katherine Louise Stover

Katherine Louise Stover, age 98, of Garnet Valley, PA, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2025.

Born and raised in South Philadelphia and Drexel Hill, Katherine had been a proud resident of Bethel Township for the past 78 years. She dedicated over 50 years to the family printing business before retiring in 2010. A bright and accomplished student, she graduated as Valedictorian from John W. Hallahan Catholic Girls' High School in 1944. Katherine was a devoted member of St. John Fisher Catholic Church and a former member of Holy Saviour Catholic Church, where she taught CCD and was deeply involved in fundraising efforts for both parishes. She had a passion for cooking and entertaining, gardening, reading, visiting Longwood Gardens, and giving back by regularly donating blood. Above all, she cherished time spent with her family.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William H.J. Stover (2001); four infant children, Joseph, Mary Catherine, Marie Elaine, and Suzanne Mary Stover; her parents, John Patrick and Louise Ryan Hanlon; and two brothers, John Patrick and James Robert Hanlon, granddaughter, Sarah Stover and great-grandson, Thomas Noble.

Katherine is survived by her loving children: Smokey (Tricie) Callaghan-Stover, Kevin (Kathleen) Stover, Brendan (Mary) Stover, Brian Stover, Maria (Gerard) Holmes, Marylou (David) Bolner, Patrick John Stover, and Michael (Eithne) Stover; her sister, Marylou McLaughlin, and her daughter-in-law, JoAnn Stover; 33 grandchildren; and 46 great-grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Friday, February 21, from 6:00-8:00 PM at Pagano Funeral Home, and again on Saturday, February 22, from 9:00-9:45 AM at St. John Fisher Catholic Church, 4225 Chichester Ave., Boothwyn, PA, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM.
