Obituary of Myda E. Curcio

Myda E. Bivins Curcio, a retired registered nurse, passed away peacefully at the age of 93. Born on July 17,1931, in Amarillo, Texas, Myda was a dedicated caregiver and an active community member.

Myda was the beloved daughter of Margueritte Cage Bivins (who passed in 1980) and Lloyd Oscar Bivins (who passed in 1963). She shared a close bond with her sisters, Patricia Bivins Cass (who passed in 1998) and her twin sister, Margie Bivins DiDomenico (who passed in 2014). She is also preceded in death by her granddaughter April Golden.

She married the love of her life, Art Curcio, on July 11,1953. They shared 60 wonderful years together before his passing on July 21, 2013.

Myda is survived by her loving daughter, Cynthia C. Golden (Jim) of Aston, and her devoted son, David Curcio (Mary) of Concordville. She was a proud grandmother to four grandchildren: Adam, Corrine, Alex, and Rachel, and a cherished great-grandmother to Mason, Juliana, Ava, and Benjamin.

After high school, Myda pursued her RN training at Northwest Texas School of Nursing and Amarillo College. She and Art moved several times, living in Wichita, Kansas for three years, then in Seattle, Washington for two years before settling in Norwood, Pennsylvania in 1962.

Myda was deeply involved in her community. She was active in the Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, 4H, and PTA, and held memberships with the VFW Post 7213. Her greatest priority was always her home and family. She also had a love for the outdoors, gardening, and sewing.

Myda's compassion, dedication, and love for her family and community will always be remembered and cherished. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 6, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd., Garnet Valley, PA, followed by funeral services at 11:00 AM.
