Obituary of James L. Martin

James (Jim) L. Martin, Age 78, of Wallingford, PA, passed away peacefully on January 26, 2025, at Crozer Chester Medical Center.

Born and raised in Gloucester, NJ, Jim had been a resident of Wallingford, PA, for the past 40 years. A dedicated supervisor, Jim devoted over 50 years of service to the U.S. Postal Service in Newtown Square before retiring in 2018. He earned a bachelor's degree in Biology from Delaware Valley College in New Hope, PA.

During his high school years, Jim played football. His love of the game remained as he was a lifelong Penn State Nittany Lions fan. Jim was an active member of the community, serving on the board of Creekside Swim Club, where he played an instrumental part as a groundskeeper. Additionally, he contributed being a deacon at Wallingford Presbyterian Church. Jim found joy in photography, cultivating flowers, gardening, caring for his home, and of course his favorite pastime was spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, James and Martha Weimer Martin, Jim was preceded in death by his sister, Susan Hayes-Stasio.

He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Linnie Martin; his four children: Jackie (Matt) Matys, Jennifer (Ralph Santelli) Martin, Tina (Steve) Pollard, and Jeff (Joanne) Martin; two sisters: Pat (Gary) Jay and Ginny Martin; sister-in-law Denise (Peter) Kanz; brother-in-law William McVean; and 11 cherished grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 30, 2025, from 2:00 to 3:00 PM at the Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd., Garnet Valley, PA, followed by a memorial service at 3:00 PM.
