Obituary of Lois C. Pennington

Lois C. (”Pidge”) Pennington, age 94 of Garnet Valley, PA, peacefully passed away on December 2, 2022 at her daughter's residence. Born to Zack and Elizabeth Cheyney Campbell in Avon Grove, Chester County, Lois has lived in the same house her husband and father-in-law built in Garnet Valley, PA for the past 72 years. She graduated from West Chester High School, Class of 1946, and later worked as a secretary for the West Chester School District. After raising her family, she worked for Clement Communications for over 20 years. 

Lois was devoted to her faith and was an active, lifelong member of Siloam United Methodist Church. She enjoyed playing pinochle, reading, gardening, and taking trips. Lois was a great cook and enjoyed preparing many beautiful family dinners and hosting big holiday celebrations, most notably the annual July 4th picnic. Most of all, Lois loved spending time with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Lois is preceded in death by her husband of fifty years, John W. Pennington, who passed in 1999, and her son-in-law, Alva Abrams. She is survived by her daughters; Linda Abrams, and Joy (Thomas) Dickerson, and grandchildren; Andrea, Laura, Amanda, Jacob, and Sarah, and great grandchildren; Liam, Cole, Natalie, Sebastian, and Simone. 

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 7, 2022 from 9:30 - 11:00AM at Siloam United Methodist Church, 3720 Foulk Rd, Garnet Valley, PA followed by a funeral service at 11:00AM with interment at Siloam United Methodist Cemetery.
