It is amazing how our mind works, we see people daily but we are not seeing them, as they stand in front of us. Nancy's picture is the first time in all the years that we have really seen her. Marsha and I will always remember the Varney house as the likely to find Scott when he needed time out from his family and brothers. Nancy and her family were an excellent view, for a, unknown to us, future Doctor, to experience how normal families worked. If it was Wednesday supper would be spaghetti at 6;00p.m. We cannot think of any families that had more impact on the young life of Dr. Scott Mann, M.D. than the Varneys. THANK YOU, LOVE, Denny and Marsha Mann

I remember going to Cub Scout meetings, led by Mrs. Varney and sitting cross-legged style in a circle with Gary, Jeff and Bobby Slowey. I also remember climbing over our backyard fence and walking over to the Varney basement door to visit Jeff and Gary and seeing the antique finishing operation right there on the patio. In my childhood, Mrs. Varney was always kind and gentle and very willing to talk to me and ask lots of questions about what I was interested in. I always knew I would be greeted with the large smile when Mrs. Varney answered her front door on the many times I went over the visit Jeff and Gary. What a blessing she was to our Keating Street neighborhood! – Mark Winfrey
