Obituary of Elizabeth M. Cunningham

Elizabeth Marie "Betty" Cunningham (LoBosco) passed away on January 9, 2018. Born on February 17, 1936 in St. Agnes Hospital, Philadelphia, PA. Daughter of the late Nicholas LoBosco and Elizabeth Cipriano LoBosco Rock. Beloved wife and soul mate of John Robert Cunningham, loving mother of Suzanne (Scott) Gaffney, Jacqueline (Larry) Bak and Theodore (Melissa) Schmitt, Step-mother of Heather (Niall) Markey and Graham Cunningham, grandmother of Shawn Gaffney, Zachary Gaffney and Alexander Schmitt, step grandmother of Ruby Markey and Sam Markey, Sister of Cynthia Lamarchesino. A graduate of West Catholic High School for Girls class of 1953. A Graduate of St. Agnes School of Nursing class of 1956. She joined the staff at St. Agnes Hospital upon graduation and worked for 10 years as staff nurse and head nurse. She was active in the Nurses Alumni Association while working at St. Agnes. Betty held office of Secretary and ran several Communion Breakfast events. A lifetime member of the St. Agnes Alumni Association. After a three year hiatus and a move to Springfield, PA, Betty resumed her nursing career at the Delaware County Memorial Hospital for the next 33 years working as staff nurse, head nurse and nurse manager. Betty was very proud of her nursing profession. Betty enjoyed travel, was an avid reader, loved gardening, cooking, baking and caring and feeding the wild birds. She loved the outdoors, her summers at her home in Cape May and visiting her children, step children and grandchildren. Betty was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Church and a member of The Friends of Old St. Thomas the Apostle Church at Ivy Mills. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30AM on Friday, January 19, 2018, at St. Thomas the Apostle Church (New Church), 430 Valleybrook Rd., Glen Mills, PA where friends may call from 9:15-10:15AM.
