Obituary of Mark W. Ludvigson

Mark Whitney Ludvigson Mark, age 53 left our World suddenly surrounded by his family on October 17, 2017. Born to Jon and Marlene Ludvigson on February 28, 1964, Mark was a graduate of Brandywine High School and lifetime employee of DuPont. While at Brandywine High School, he met his best friend and love of his life, Kelly Brown. They shared an incredible and loving bond. They did everything together including car shows, evenings on the couch, and nachos out with friends, Deena and Bob. Mark always said, "life is about making each other's dreams come true" and that's what they did together. They welcomed three beautiful children into the world and built a wonderful life together. Anyone that knew Mark knew how much of a family guy he was and how proud he was of all his children's accomplishments. Aside from his family, cars were his second love. He was a classical and muscle car enthusiast and enjoyed going to car shows near and far with his wife, Kelly, son Mark and many friends. He could always be seen washing and detailing his cars in the driveway. Mark leaves behind his wife of 31 years, Kelly Brown Ludvigson, three children, Dr. Emily Ludvigson Schaffer and her husband, Scott, Shelby Ludvigson and her boyfriend Chris Valentine, and Mark Whitney Ludvigson, Jr. Mark also leaves behind his parents, Marlene and Jon Ludvigson and his second parents, in-laws Pat and George Brown. Mark was the brother to Lori Ludvigson Van Sickle and brother in law to W. Michael Van Sickle and two nieces Caitlin And Taylor. Mark leaves behind countless family members, friends, co-workers, and "the car guys". Relatives and friends are invited to attend a celebration of Mark's life and Christian Mass at IHM Catholic Church, 4701 Weldon Road, Wilmington, DE, 19803 on Saturday, October 21, 2017, 8:00 - 11:00am followed by a Catholic Mass. Interment will be private. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to Archmere Academy, 3600 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, DE 19703 or Faithful Friends, 12 Germay Drive, Wilmington, DE 19804.
