Obituary of Haig H. Soojian

Haig H. Soojian, age 89 of Delaware County died on March 16, 2017 at Neighborhood Hospice in West Chester, PA. Born to the late Harry and Zora Buruchian Soojian in Philadelphia and raised in Passaic, NJ, he  resided the for past 7 years in Delaware County, previously residing in Upper Saddle River, NJ and Lakewood, NJ.  Haig graduated from Passaic High School class of 1945 and received his Bachelors and Masters degree from Newark College of Engineering. He served in the U.S. Army during peacetime and was an Electrical Engineer for 45 years, working many years in his own firm Telemetrics, retiring in 1996.  He enjoyed golfing and traveling with his wife.  In addition to his parents, Haig is preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor M. D'Arrigo Soojian who died in 2010, 3 brothers, Jacob, Vahn and John Soojian, and is survived by his son, Michael M. Soojian MD and his wife Terry McKissick, 2 daughters, Laurie Woo and her husband David and Barbara Soojian and her husband Michael Diener, also 5 grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Wednesday 7-9PM at Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Road, Garnet Valley, PA  and Friday 2-4PM and 7-9PM and Saturday 9-9:30AM at the Vander Plaat-Vermeulen Memorial Home, 530 High Mountain Road, Franklin Lakes, NJ, funeral services to follow at 9:30AM. Entombment Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum , Paterson, NJ.  In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to Neighborhood Hospice, 400 E Marshall St., West Chester, PA 19380 or Alzheimer's Assn, PO Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090 .
