Obituary of Joseph Griffiths McCurdy

Joseph Griffiths McCurdy, Jr., age 86, of Middletown, DE, passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2017. Joseph was born in Philadelphia, and raised in Upper Darby, and spent the last twelve years in Middletown, DE. Joseph served in the Korean War in the army, and then followed into his career as a Data Processor Manager for R.H. Donnelley Company, retiring in 1990. He belonged to the Springfield Masonic Lodge #767. Joseph's favorite pastimes were fishing, boating, crabbing, and painting. Joseph is preceded in death by his wife Doris Greta (Rensimer) McCurdy, who passed away in 1997, and parents Joseph and Sarah Ella (Hickaman) McCurdy. Joseph is survived and missed by his son Steven Joseph (Monica) McCurdy, daughter Linda Lee Dunn (Andrew B.), sister Jean Bonsall, and 3 grandchildren; Mathew Robert and Morgan Danielle Dunn, Magnolia Medina McCurdy. A visitation will be held on Thursday evening, February 16, 7-9PM, and Friday, February 17, 9-10AM, at the Pagano Funeral Home 3711 Foulk Rd, Garnet Valley, PA, followed by funeral services at 10AM. Interment will follow to Arlington Cemetery, Drexel Hill, PA. In lieu of flowers, a contribution in Joseph's name can be made to the American Heart Association, www.heart.org foundation.
