Obituary of Samuel G. Scull

Samuel G. Scull, age 83, of Trainer, PA died peacefully on November 26, 2016 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Chester, PA, he resided for most of his life in Glen Mills. He graduated from Media High School and served in the Navy during the Korean Conflict. He joined Baldt Anchor as a machinist. Later, Sam was employed by Sleighton Farm School for over 30 years, retiring in 1994. Sam was self-taught and a lifelong learner. He studied marine life and enjoyed breeding and raising rare fish. That interest led to his membership in the Delaware County Tropical Fish Club and the Killifish Club. He was an animal lover and bred and trained pigeons, becoming a member of the Boothwyn Pigeon Club. He was passionate about gardening and could grow the most difficult plants and flowers. Later in life, he became proficient with computers, learning and working with hardware, software and coding. He passed his love of gardening, animals and technology to every one of his children and grandchildren. Samuel is preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Laura Scull, sisters, Anna D'Alterio and Polly King, and son in law Jeffrey Dunlap. He is survived by 4 children, Samuel Scull (Paula Shaffner), Sandra Dunlap, Sharon Scull and Stacey Scull, sister, Reva Genthert, 3 grandchildren, Jake, Jordan and Gabe Scull, his friend, Sally Alexander, and his beloved dog Pugly.
